Josie's birthday!

9/6/11
So Josie is officially 1! It's so hard to believe that it has been over a year since we drove to the hospital, scared to death of going through labor. She is so big now! She's pulling up constantly and crawling everywhere and she's going everywhere all the time. I can't believe she's so big and smart and beautiful. She's looking more and more like Tyler every day, but every now and then I can see a spark of me in her.

We had her birthday party on Saturday (9/3), the day after her actual birthday. The night before, Carol and I went up to the church to decorate. The lady was supposed to meet us to open the church at 4:30 but when she got there, she didn't have her keys. She knew of another lady that had some keys so she called her and that lady agreed to bring her set of keys when she got off work at 6. I was a little frustrated but it was a simple mistake, so I went back home and came back at 6.

When we got back there, the lady still hadn't showed up. Now I was really frustrated. We ended up waiting until about 8:45 for the lady to finally get her ass in gear and get there. She was really nice, but I mean, seriously?! It was my baby girls' birthday and I had just wasted the afternoon away from her. Ugh!

Anyway, we decorated with hot pink, green and white streamers, layed out the pink table cloths and set the tables. It was so beautiful! We decided to wait until the day of the party to blow up balloons because I was afraid that they would deflate before the party. Her theme was hot pink, lime green, and white with monkeys.  Everything was perfect :) Before we left, Carol got the keys from the lady because she said that  she didn't want the whole delay thing to happen again before her party.

So the big day came and Josie was in a really good mood that morning. I went ahead and got ready and painted on the car windows. (Happy 1st Birthday Josie!)(Baby Nub is 1!)and (Our Baby Executive is 1!) The plan was, that I would go pick up Beth and the birthday cake and meet Carol at the church at 12:30 so we would have plenty of time to decorate the rest of the stuff and set up the food. So I headed to Mama's and picked up Beth and the cakes, then headed to the church.... Only when we got there Carol was no where to be found.

I called and called, sent multiple text messages and she wouldn't call or text back. I was so furious! I mean, seriously?!?!?! She got the keys and promised that she would be there at 12:30. Now it was 1:15 and I couldn't get in touch with her. My heart was breaking because I knew that this was my baby girl's first birthday party and it was not supposed to be like this. She finally showed up and didn't even apologize to me. She just said the reason why she was late, but never told me sorry. I think that I deserved that at least. She could tell that I was furious so she didn't talk to me any more after that.

Because of that late start, I was so stressed throughout the entire party. She didn't get the ice like she said she was going to, people started showing up before all the food was out and the balloons were up and Josie was 15 minutes late for her own party. It was ridiculous, but Josie didn't mind. After Josie did her smash cake and we got her cleaned up, everyone had already been eating. I was trying to take care of Josie (who since she had a cold was in an incredibly grumpy mood) and eat at the same time. Then Carl kept on and kept on about cutting the cake. I really wanted a picture of the three of us in front of the cake, but with him yelling every 5 seconds, I gave in and cut the cake.

After I finally managed to let go, everything went well. Josie was extremely fussy when it came time for opening presents and I ended up doing it. All in all, the party was really nice and we had a good time. Josie enjoyed herself and that's all that matters. :)
